MSFW

Spring has sprung and brought with it another year of MSFW. This year the face of MSFW is the gorgeous barbie doll that is Melbourne born model and ANTM runner up Sophie Van Den Akker. 
Unlike L'Oreal fall fashion week - which I find to be more unified - in that it is run by the one brand, MSFW is a collaboration of the Melbourne city council and todays best designers. Events are spread over the city, which include business workshops, industry talks, garments making classes, lifestyle and health programs and of course fashion shows. There is not one spot to obtain tickets, and the MSFW website is not easy to navigate through. Kicking off tonight, I will be attending the Emerging designer series at the Grand Hyatt, than a fashion workshop run by La Mode Collage of fashion, followed by Runway show featuring Rachel Gilbert, Aurelio Costarella, Christine and more.

Drag Me to Bingo

A growing archive of event posters I’ve designed for Buttery Chard’s Drag Queen Bingo - where camp meets Canva and every theme is a new visual playground. I draw inspiration directly from the queen herself and the show’s ever-changing themes: from flapper glam and Queen Bey’s  Cowboy Carter  to Christmas chaos and retro ‘80s realness. Each poster is created using Canva, guided by a strong intuitive eye for graphic detail - a skill I didn’t learn, but one I’ve always had. (That said, I’ve since paired my natural instincts with formal training in design elements and principles.)
