Mini RadaPriya Designs is currently undergoing a makeover in preparation for our New Collection, which will drop Mid Winter this year. Lots of exciting designs and projects in the works, as well as a new baby - She should be arriving about the same time! As Mini suggests, the collection will be mostly smaller versions of the ladies designs, some you've already seen, like this MINI version of the Kaleidoscope Knit Dress from the very first collection in 2011! The mini version is a Tunic Style that can be worn on its own, or over leggings. Valentine's Day was very eventful this year - my beau proposed and we booked our entire wedding the same day! It has been the easiest event I have ever planned, which is lucky as raising our daughter is much more than a full time job.  We had planned to skip this year's Melbourne Fashion Festival, freshly changed to Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival , so when the girls threw me an impromptu Hen's night and chose The National Graduate Showcase runway to host us, it couldn't have been a more perfect. All my favourite girls and one of the most inspiring runways I have seen in a long time. I was so proud to find Sahana and her aunty favourites amongst the bloggers and photogs outside  full album on Facebook

so its been almost a year since my last collection was released - the large gap was unintentional and unfortunately it will still be awhile before I am able to get my next collection out and available. But this doesn't mean I haven't been designing and sewing, in fact I work everyday on pieces for my individual clients. Its a little harder now, finding time between feeds and sleep, but I am motivated and inspired more than ever. My plan is to re-launch my entire label in the new year, and in the meantime produce one offs - like this cotton jersey jumpsuit with vintage sleeve fabric from the 1960's

Our world has became our daughter, and what a wonderful world it is! Mummyhood required a more suitable chop - Sahana was getting fed up with my hair in her face all the time, and its easier to take care of, which leaves more time for the important things: kisses and cuddles

For almost 4 months I was convinced I was pregnant with a boy, so when the nurse told me otherwise, I asked if she could please check again. Now with my tiny little daughter in my arms, just over 2 weeks old, I could not imagine a more perfect being to come into our life.  During my third trimester, with my own collection put on hold, I busied myself sewing mini versions of all my favourite pieces (plus some handy baby bibs) Sahana is far too tiny to fit into any of her collection, but we are in no rush, and enjoying every second observing the world unfold to our precious baby

A few weeks ago, on a windy winter day, Saci and I took the girls (her gorgeous step children) for an adventure at Kerry Green near Cape Schanck - its such a striking place to see. Tame rolling hills covered in tall grass, that reaches out to the wild ocean that cuts away at the shore making steep unstable cliffs. The climb to the bottom is well worth the effort, with clear blue rock pools teaming with life forming amongst the sharp rock beach.  In just 6 months my twin sister Saci will be tying the knot with her beau of 5 years. We are in the midst of wedding fever designing and making her wedding dress - which I have to admit has been the most of fun in the sewing room I've ever had. Heavily pregnant now, I rely on her more than ever, as everything takes that much longer and any baby kicks have me instantly forgetting what I'm doing. A couple of weeks back a work colleague of Saci's set up a casual shoot with Saci as a model, and I provided the garments, i.e this mock up wedding dress I made a few years back, seen here   here & here . I snapped some of these candid pics outside during a break

Jeans are already hard enough for me, let alone adding an ever expanding baby bump to the equation. For 6 months Ive been able to get away with body con dresses (when I'm not in oversized nighties or mother Hubbard dresses), but this cooler weather + the energy I've got back now that I'm in my third trimester, means legs free for striding. I searched for maternity jeans online and stores I could find down the Peninsula way, but all were more shabby than chic = DIY These are a pair of my old favourites that I whipped up. Converting them was a simple as overlocking the top of the pockets out (incl waistband) and stitching in some good quality elastic banding. et te voilà! The lovely twins of FASHIONOXYGEN have been showcasing pieces from my AW12 collection on their blog recently. I love these girls style, and its so exciting to see posts pop up with my designs. Based in Spain, they are 6 months ahead of us in fashion realm, however because I produce my collections here in Australia, my Autumn Winter 2012 collection is their AW13. A little post and pre show photo log of what my lovely twin sister wore to the L'Oreal Fashion Festival Red Carpet event. Most in her comfort wearing bohemian style clothing, I added a little chic with two pieces from my collection - the silk top is from the Autumn Winter 2013 collection, and the palazzo pant is from the recent Spring Summer 12/13 collection. The rest of the styling is all her own - including the hair jewellery that she bought on one her many trips to India.

A little bit shagadelic, a touch of chic and a whole lotta 80's - Famous for Fashion Chapel st runway was not just eye popping, but purely entertaining  We shot the entire L'Oreal fashion event using the new Samsung Galaxy camera , edit and all - including the upload and post to the blog. The highlight of Summer has arrived again - The St Kilda Festival! The flagship event of the St Kilda Festival is Festival Sunday, where crowds of up to 400,000 flock to experience the best of Aussie bands, performers, plus workshops, events, carnival-style amusement and of course Market stalls! Last year we showcased our Summer collection to great review, plus we were situated smack bang in the middle of hype facing the stage, so it was all play, party central. We have the same spot again this year, and although the bureau tells us there is a 40% chance of some morning rain, we are excited! The line up at our stage in Alfred Square includes Mojo Juju, Kutcha Edwards, plus main stage across the street has the Juggernaut DJ's, Pez and The Cat Empire! We will of course be showing off the newest collection, plus heaps of our favourite Jewels and accessories collected over the last year   There is nothing in our summer quite like - we look forward to seeing you tomo...

... even that the clouds were low and grey, and the wind blew a gale, the ocean was warm and welcoming for our brief visit to our home beach of Byron Bay.  My twin sister has fallen in love with a local label there called Arnhem , and I can see the attraction. I'm wearing one of their kimonos, a simple and very beautiful versatile piece, light enough to protect my fair skin from those deceiving UV rays. ASOS is having a pretty amazing sale at the moment, and this bikini arrived just in time for the trip - and worn everyday since (beaches, pool, creek, canal, and even in the bathtub with my niece!) I cannot begin to explain how lovely it is to arrive back into the thick of an Australian summer. Melbourne is showing off, but the Mornington Peninsula is where all the action is... still we were able to find an uncrowded beach by the McCrae Pavilion for a dip in the bay and a long lunch I have decided to relocate down here, business and all. So after my Byron Bay trip next week, this will be my new residence, and I couldnt be happier to be back near the beach Happy Summer everyone! Impressed by what I saw at the orientation day of Polimoda school of Fashion, Florence, last week, I decided it would be worth attending the final presentations of students graduating with Masters degree's in Trend Forecasting. With high expectations, I was still surprised with the quality of work produced by the students, who hail from all corners of the globe. Over 4 hours we saw bodies of work that varied far beyond the limits of contemporary fashion, venturing from the culinary kitchen to outer space, from physical body manipulation to questions of our souls. It was clear that an education at Polimoda could add another dimension to my skill set, and if all the chips fall right, I'm convinced to attend there in the new year. Fixed by each individuals take on Trend Forecasting, I managed to capture only the few images you see below.

Navy and gold classic combination for the last day of 'Statement necklace week'. Too cold to venture out, but warm enough inside (floor heating) to don hot pants, aka, my SS12 high waisted, wool blend shorts . The necklace is very similar to the one I wore yesterday, with green and blue, and thats because I bought it at the same place. Holidays have officially started here, and its Winter markets galore.
